Easytag> Gtkpod> iPod

With some Gigabytes in my music library, organization is key! It was a task that has to do from scratch, that is, in all my songs / albums before he can move to my iPod (5th Gen - 80GB).

. Easytag

The first step is to certify that the tags (ID3) are all in the name of the artist, album, track number and track correct. To edit these tags use the Easytag.

$ Sudo apt-get install easytag

It is very intuitive intuitive editing a tag with this program. We can also find these tags on CDDB. [Procedures: Select all the songs from an album 'right-click "Search CDDB files]

We can now also choose the image (of coverflow) and adds the (all files of the album). [Procedures: Select all the songs from an album "in the third column of the program click on the tab 'picture' 'button' more 'and choose the image' at the end click on the check the right side of the image 'of the buttons on the top bar choose 'Save file (s)']

. Gtkpod

To transfer the songs to your iPod using the Gtkpod. I spoke on this program in the past, where he also mentioned how to configure your iPod to enable synchronization with Linux. Read the article written by me to learn more about these procedures.

In gtkpod can make sure that the coverflow is properly 'listed', activating the window of 'album art' in the lower right corner of the left. If not suggest returning to Easytag and edit the tags again. If they do so in Gtkpod, none of these changes will be saved - a next time try to copy those songs to your iPod, the coverflow not be configured correctly.

Save it in the end, disassemble the Disk / iPod and voila: they can go for a ride / walk to the nearest park because this blog does not learn anything! : P

Take a screenshot web site

Many of you have said to build a PRT SC (print screen reads it) to any page you find.

While this process is relatively easy on Linux, with the gnome-screenshot, the browser windows always appear in the final image.

  1. A method of multi platform and easy it is to use the internet!
The site Thumbalizr allows PTR SC to take a page (visible - for a standard screen) and / or the full page. Link.
  2. Another way is to use Firefox with a plugin. There are several. There is for example the Abduction. SC PRT can tap the full page or just part of it.

Putting Gmail as player-mail 'default' in Firefox

If you do not have any mail reader (eg Thunderbird) installed / configured, the use of the mailto link, it becomes more obsolete and slow in sending the email to the destination.

In Firefox we can make Gmail as' destination 'of mailto!

Instructions:

To do this simply enter the Gmail.

Write about: config in the URL bar and change
gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to true.

Clicking this link ... and accept.

For security reasons it is recommended placing the
gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to false again.

You can try the link below if you are working.

Tips and shortcuts for Firefox

With some tips / shortcuts can make our experience with the Fire Rapoza better.

Shortcuts / keyboard shortcuts

There are several. You can consult this page which are well represented / explained.

But my most used are:

  • [Ctrl] + [K]: deslica the cursor up to the frame's search firefox.
  • [Ctrl] + [Up or Down]: If the cursor is in the frame of research and do these shortcuts, you change the search engine of the frame.
  • [Ctrl] + [L] or [F]: it moves the cursor to the frame of url.

Tip

The frame of the url is the function of seach or even better.

For example, you want to go to gmail, instead of typing "www.gmail.com", simply write "gmail", you are redirected to a page. Another example is "yahoo mail" (yes with space) and forwarded to the page you are right.

The frame of url works like this:

  • If what you wrote is not text and url, and that text has much related to a certain page (see previous examples), you are redirected to this page.
  • If the text is not related to a page in particular, you are redirected to Google to search the text you write. Experimenta. It is difficult to explain ...

Do some tests with RTP, RTP1, Download IE.

Soon this tip will seize you! :)

Try and share your opinion.

Access shortcuts Gnome Panel

Sometimes you need to know what the command of a program to start the console .. To debug, etc..

The usual method that is going to use the gnome panel, edit menu, find the shortcut to the program in question and see your options. I already did several times. And it's boring.

Today I discovered a simple way! Very simple. Just drag the shortcut menu that is in the gnome to open a window of firefox.

Then find the line that begins with:

Exec:

The following should be the command to launch the application ..

I never said that was simple? :)
